Gael Clichy has signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal. Gael joined from AS Cannes in August 2003 and is a first team regular at only 22 with 146 appearances for the gunners.
Clichy who plays left back for the gunners has won the league in 2004 and made the most appearances for the club last season playing 49 out of 58 matches.
Gael’s performances last season also earned him great acknowledgement from his fellow professionals, as he was voted into the PFA Team of the Year.
Gael joins a few other players that have extended their contracts with Arsenal. Wenger is hoping to hold on to as many players as possible for the following season after losing a few in the summer transfer already.
