Nani will be in the starting line-up as Premier League and European champions Manchester United face Portsmouth in the traditional season opener at Wembley this Sunday.
Sir Alex Ferguson told the club website: “Nani will probably start on Sunday because he is suspended for the first two league games of the season.”
Gary Neville is also fit to travel.
However, Owen Hargreaves is not so lucky with his manager citing the away game on the 25th August, ironically also against Portsmouth, as a more likely target.
“Owen Hargreaves is not ready. He should be OK for Portsmouth away, that’s the time frame we’ve put on it.”
Ben Foster fans will also be disappointed as swelling in his knee will keep him out of the Community Shield clash.
