Director of Refereeing Lecture

After lunch, on Friday afternoon, the French squad gathered together in the video room of the Latitudes Hotel in Toulouse, where they are staying while preparing for Saturday’s friendly against Paraguay, for a presentation by Marc Batta. Batta is the National Director of Refereeing and gave them the same presentation that was given to referees who are working in Euro 2008 this summer. This should refresh the players’ memory of what is tolerated and what is penalised in the game, to keep on the right side of the law of football. Thus, unnecessary sending-offs should now be avoided by the France team, as it seeks to bring back to French shores the glory of Euro 2000.
