Gianluigi Donnarumma Asking Price Lowered as Man City Move Edges Closer

Donnarumma asking price

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly lowered the asking price for goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma as Manchester City consider a summer move for the Italian goalkeeper.

Donnarumma, 26, has been linked with City as Pep Guardiola assesses his options between the posts.

With Ederson’s future uncertain, the reigning Premier League champions are said to be weighing up a bid for the Euro 2020 winner.

PSG Lower Donnarumma Asking Price

According to RMC Sport, PSG have dropped their valuation of Donnarumma from £43million to a fee in the region of £26m–£30m.

The reduced Donnarumma asking price reflects the fact that he has only one year remaining on his contract in Paris.

Luis Enrique has already made preparations for life without the Italian, with Lille’s Lucas Chevalier signed this summer as his replacement.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Donnarumma has already agreed personal terms with Manchester City.

That development suggests a deal is moving closer — but any move for Donnarumma would almost certainly require Ederson to leave the Etihad.

Is Ederson Leaving Man City?

Ederson is among a number of high-profile Premier League players who could still leave before the transfer window closes.

The Brazilian has been a mainstay of Guardiola’s side since joining from Benfica in 2017, but saw his role reduced last season as Stefan Ortega shared game time.

With Galatasaray showing continued interest, Ederson’s exit is looking increasingly likely.

Daily Mail Sport report that Galatasaray are preparing a new bid after their opening offer of around £8.5m was rejected.

The Turkish club have also held talks over other City players, including defender Manuel Akanji, but remain focused on securing Ederson.

In the meantime, Guardiola has placed his faith in 22-year-old James Trafford, who made a strong debut with a clean sheet at Wolves but then struggled against Tottenham.

Guardiola praised Trafford’s bravery but stressed that squad rotation will remain key across the season.

The situation leaves City weighing up their next move. With PSG lowering the Donnarumma asking price, the deal has become financially viable, but City’s decision will hinge on whether Ederson departs.

If he does, Donnarumma looks increasingly likely to be the long-term successor.
