2015-16 Premier League Predictions and Tips

With the Premier League season almost coming to an end, we see that Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur have so far outclassed the rest of the competition. At the beginning of the season no one would have predicted that this would have been the outcome after 30+ weeks of play. This season has been a very odd one indeed as Southampton and West Ham are still very much in the top four.

Many EPL expert tips had the winner of Premier League as one of the teams that made the top four last season. With powerhouses Chelsea and Manchester United along with, Arsenal and Manchester City all being top contenders, it is a surprise that none of them have clinched the number one spot. Surprisingly, after they spent £108 million boosting their squad, Manchester United look like they may fail to make the top four. Meanwhile, Chelsea look in danger of missing out on European football next year.

Could this be a start of a big change of momentum in EPL? At the start of the season, the football betting had Leicester City at 5000/1 to win the Premier League. With not many games left they are looking good and it’s going to be tough for any team to dislodge them. This would be the first in the club’s history that they would be English champions.

Spurs are a strong second and are seven points behind Leicester. Tottenham will have a challenge ahead of them if they are to make a late run and claim to top spot. If Spurs do manage to finish first, it will be the first time they have won the title since 1961.

Some of the best odds for making the top four are for West Ham. It would be the first time that they would qualify for the Champions league. Currently they are in 6th place and were up until recently tied with Manchester United. Another outsider to make the top four is Southhampton. They have been impressive in recent weeks, with their only loss a narrow defeat to Leicester. They are only three points away from Manchester United in fifth.

There doesn’t seem to be a solid structure in the top four teams and all seem like they have vulnerabilities, and one or more could be bounced out quickly. Regardless of who is in the top four it is clear that clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea are going to have to do some major overhauls in the summer. With Chelsea missing out on the Champions League next season, they will find it hard to attract the higher value players that they need. Manchester United have a different problem and may end up sacking Louis van Gaal. Jose Mourinho may well be next in line should Van Gaal get fired.

Right now though it is the smaller clubs who are getting the attention and that is making it an exciting end to the season.
