Everton Eye Arsenal Winger Reiss Nelson as Tyler Dibling Chase Stalls

Everton Transfer News: Reiss Nelson

The latest Everton transfer news suggests the Toffees may turn to Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson in their pursuit for a right-sided winger, after the Tyler Dibling deal stalled.

The 25-year-old has been on the fringes of Mikel Arteta’s plans for some time and came close to re-joining Fulham earlier this summer, only for talks to collapse late on.

West Ham also showed interest, but Nelson’s £100,000-a-week wages have proven a major stumbling block for suitors across the Premier League.

Everton Transfer News: Reiss Nelson Emerges as Target

Although initially Arsenal would have preferred to sell Nelson permanently, the Gunners are now open to sanctioning another loan move, preferably with an option to buy in the region of £15–20 million.

Everton have long-standing interest in the player, after they previously attempted to sign Nelson under Sean Dyche last summer before his eventual switch to Fulham.

With his contract running until 2027, Arsenal know they still have some leverage, but interest from elsewhere is cooling fast. A compromise may be necessary, particularly if they hope to generate funds for late-window reinforcements of their own.

Nelson would not be the first Arsenal winger to make a late-window move to Goodison Park. In 2019, Everton secured Alex Iwobi in a £27 million deal just before the deadline, while Theo Walcott also made the switch in January 2018.

Tyler Dibling Transfer Latest

Everton’s primary target this summer has been Southampton’s 19-year-old talent Tyler Dibling, but negotiations have stalled. The Saints are demanding £50m for the youngster — a figure above Everton’s valuation.

Reports suggest Southampton have presented a counter-offer that could still be accepted, but David Moyes and the board are reluctant to meet the asking price.

To complicate matters further, Crystal Palace have now entered the race for Dibling as they prepare for the likely departure of Eberechi Eze to Tottenham.

If Everton are priced out of a Dibling deal, Nelson represents a more affordable and experienced alternative — even with his hefty wages.

A loan-to-buy structure could help spread the cost while giving the Toffees a proven Premier League option in a position where depth is desperately needed.

Everton looked devoid of attacking threat in Monday’s 1-0 defeat against Leeds, suggesting they may need more than just one addition.

A cheaper solution like Nelson could enable Moyes’ side to bring in someone else on top – another winger or possibly even a centre-forward.
