Viktor Gyokeres Arsenal Flop vs Manchester United Triggers Fan Trolls Over Sporting CP Boost

Viktor Gyokeres has been trolled by football fans around the globe after a bizarre turn of events at former club Sporting CP.

The Arsenal striker joined the club for a £64million fee this summer and that came following a bit of a long-running saga.

Gyokeres demanded his former outfit, Sporting, sanctioned the deal and he even urged his representation to waive what would have been mega agent fees in order to get the deal over the line.

It would eventually be secured by the Gunners and manager Mikel Arteta was delighted to land one of the hottest striker prospects in world football at that time.

His form in Portugal brought his talents in line with some of the best as he hit an incredible 54 goals in 52 appearances last season alone. That had the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United circling the player but his choice was always going to be the Emirates.

Former Coventry City attacker Gyokeres played his hand strong in pre-season in order to force his move through and it went beyond his agents taking a massive hit.

The player himself was also reportedly forced to pay a £300,000 fine for failing to show up for pre-season training with the Portuguese giants.

And now that information has come back to bite Gyokeres, somewhat, at least with punters taking a swing at the easy target.

From the £300k fine the Sweden international had to pay his old club, it is claimed they went out and spent that fee on left-back Ricardo Mangas.

News has circulated that Mangas went for that small price from Spartak Moscow and his early season form has been used as a stick with which to beat Gyokeres.

Why Ricardo Mangas went viral in Gyokeres Sporting CP comparison

Taking to social media one person posted an image of Mangas in celebration for his new team and captioned the pic: “Viktor Gyokeres had to pay a fine of £300,000 for not showing up for pre-season training with Sporting.

“Sporting signed left-back Ricardo Mangas for £300,000. Mangas: 2 goals, Gyokeres: 0 goals.”

Hundreds of punters jumped on the post trolling the 27-year-old with many suggesting he was more interested in his hair cut than what was going on on the pitch at Old Trafford.

One wrote: “But how many xHF (expected hair flicks) does Mangas have per game?” as a second commented: “Gyokeres has made more touches of his hair (28) than the ball (3) in the first-half.”

One laughed: “Gyokeres knew Mangas would be the real MVP this season didn’t want to steal his thunder genius move,” as a fourth noted: “No refund.”

Others backed the player and simply wrote: “Arsenal 3 points, United 0 points. The only stat that matters.”
