World-class Man Utd centre-back Rio Ferdinand encouraged the Man Utd administration to spend big sums of money in the transfer market again this summer, after the 50 million plus that Man utd spent last summer brought Man Utd the double. Ferdinand believes that if the club spends in a similar way this season, Man Utd may be in for the Treble next season. Most importantly however remain the retaining of the Premiership crown and the UEFA Champions League. But this achievement will not happen unless Man Utd strengthen their squad. The other big clubs are strengthening, so if Man Utd fail to do so, they will be inferior. Ferguson is no stranger to bringing the right players at the right time for the English giants.
“We have to build on this now. I think the manager will be busy in the transfer market this summer and adding to an already great squad. It would be criminal to throw away this achievement and not build on it.”
“I would be very disappointed if this was the last major trophy we won. I know that’s being greedy and we are you are expecting a lot of yourselves but you look around the changing room every day and on the training pitch you cannot help but have expectations like that.” – Rio Ferdinand
