Ahead of the clash between current league leaders Man Utd and Arsenal, Sir Alex Ferguson has praised how summer acquisitions Hargreaves, Anderson, Nani and Tevez have settled in and played a huge part in the club’s push for success. Ferguson said that this summer will be no difference. The Scot believes that there are certain departments in the squad that need strengthening and he would spend money to keep the team competitive.

Most probably, Fergie was referring to the defensive department which is a bit short currently with injuries to Vidic and long-term injuries to Neville and Silvestre. A name that comes to mind is Miguel Veloso, with papers already reporting that Man Utd are preparing a £15 million bid for the Sporting Lisbon defender/midfielder. Ferguson said that he would probably go for young players this summer not established expensive players. It is also very probable that Ferguson would try to find a long-term replacement for Gary Neville, with Jose Bosingwa being one of the Red Devils’ targets. However, one cannot guess which players will Fergie move for, as no one would have imagined Anderson’s arrival to the club.
