Ferguson: Thank God I didn’t retire!

Fergie

Sensational manager Sir Alex Ferguson has stated that he is very happy that he didn’t retire back in 2002. He has successfully led the team to Premiership glory last season, with a big chance of doing the same this season, and to another UEFA Champions League final since 1999. Some said he couldn’t do it, but those people have shut their mouth, now that Ferguson has not only built a strong team of the present, but also a marvellous team for the future. Fergie said that his wife influenced his decision about retirement, and today feels he did great to follow her advice.

“I don’t know how I would feel now watching this sitting in the directors’ box. It would have been difficult, this is a fantastic team. The decision was taken because my wife told me I was not resigning. It’s the only time I have been bullied!”

“The expectations to deliver here are so high. It was not easy because we had to let players go who were part of the family here. Players like Roy Keane and Phil Neville. It was a period of change. But the manager is the only one who has the patience. The supporters don’t have it, only you have the patience.” – Sir Alex Ferguson
