The 5-1 victory over Celtic was probably the greatest victory for Rangers that season, in what was a generally poor campaign in terms of trophies. Earlier in the campaign, Celtic destroyed Rangers 6-2 at Celtic Park so revenge was on the cards. The Gers took the lead after 34 minutes when Reyna slid through Rangers captain Barry Ferguson who confidently swooped home. It took Celtic until 57 minutes to get the equaliser when Henrik Larsson leaped above the Gers defence to nod past Klos. Two minutes later, Rangers’ new £12m signing Tore Andre Flo flicked home his debut goal after Albertz’s header hit the bar. This seemed to galvanise Rangers and in the final half-hour they simply inialated Celtic. Ronald De Boer thumped home a header for the third Rangers goal and Lorenzo Amoruso got the fourth with a bullet header, both from Albertz’s corner kicks. Michael Mols got his first Old Firm goal after a horrendous year through injury and he latched on to Albertz’s low cross to slide in and hammer home. A special mention goes to Lorenzo Amoruso for his performance, simply outstanding and one of the greatest individual performances for a long time.
