Rangers will find out tomorrow whether their improved bid for Rapid Vienna striker Nikica Jelavic has been successful. The SPL Champions have reportedly bid up to £3.5m for the Croatian International who scored twice for the Austrians in their Champions League Qualifier last night.

However, it is believed that Rapid are holding out for at least £4.5m. Jelavic has made it clear in the Austrian press that he would like to move to Glasgow. He said: “I was informed about Rangers’ interest in me and I really want to go, It’s always been my dream to play in Britain and Rangers are a big club with a long-standing tradition. I would love to play there.”
Rumours are circulating that Ally McCoist was in Vienna to see Jelavic net twice in Rapid’s victory against Beroe. Also, it is believed Everton have emerged as challengers for his signature. The Merseyside club are also reportedly interested in Rangers midfielder Steven Davis.
