Three words I can come up with to describe Rangers’ dismal Champions League campaign and adding to that misery, a gutless performance in Seville against Manolo Jimenez’s fluent Sevilla side on Matchday Six. The European dream for Rangers didn’t last very long, if ever there was a group Rangers could qualify, I felt this year was it.

Rangers Starting Line Up vs Sevilla
McGregor
Whittaker — Bougherra — Weir — Papac
Beasley — Thomson — Davis — McCulloch — Smith
Miller
A pathetic excuse for a line-up.
I was flicking between Arsenal’s match against Olympiakos and it was so frustrating that Arsene Wenger has the confidence to blood his young players in a meaningless Champions League game but Walter Smith has no confidence at all in Youth players for a meaningless game. The current crop of Rangers players have no idea of tactics, no method of attack and fragile in defence. Steven Whittaker’s challenge for the penalty was so embarrasing, “You Know what? I lost the ball, So I’ll just stick my leg out”. The guy doesn’t have a brain cell.
Surely, if the team had 5 or 6 youth players in there that would have been a great experience for them to play football at the highest level without any reason pressure?
