Highest-paid Premier League XI
Of the 11 highest-paid players in the Premier League right now, Guehi and Van Dijk are the only two defenders.
So when FootballBlog.co.uk decided to create a highest-paid Premier League XI, we knew that we might need to select some stars slightly out of their position.
The only deviation from the actual highest-paid 11 players was to bring in a goalkeeper. Man City’s Gianluigi Donnarumma is the Premier League’s best-paid goalkeeper right now, on £250,000 per week.
However, Donnarumma is only the joint-13th best-paid Premier League player overall, so we had to make an exception for him by picking him instead of Alexander Isak, whose weekly wage at Liverpool is £280,000.
Kai Havertz, who is also reported to be on £280,000 per week, just beat Isak to the cut due to his famed versatility — a very valuable asset in a team dominated by attacking stars.
Havertz slotted in at left-back, with Man City winger Omar Marmoush (£295,000) on the other side of a forward-thinking back four.
The midfield three, costing £950,000 per week, featured City playmaker Bernardo Silva (£300,000) alongside Manchester United duo Bruno Fernandes (£300,000) and Casemiro (£350,000).
Meanwhile, the front three sees the Premier League’s two highest-paid players in Erling Haaland (£525,000) and Mohamed Salah (£400,000) team up with Raheem Sterling, who is still earning £325,000 per week at Chelsea, despite not making a single appearance so far this season.

FootballBlog’s highest-paid Premier League XI for 2026, featuring five Manchester City players and costing £3.675m per week in total wages. Figures displayed reflect each player’s weekly wage.
Of all the players in the highest-paid Premier League XI, five are based at Man City. Liverpool and Man United have two entrants each, while Arsenal and Chelsea have one apiece.
The total cost of the team is £3.675 million per week in wages. For the sake of comparison, the combined weekly wages of every Man City player in their most recent starting XI against Man United was £1.96m.
United — who won that game 2-0 at Old Trafford to extend their winning head-to-head Manchester derby record — fielded a starting XI costing £1.59m per week.
