Arsenal are understood to be in advanced talks with Fiorentina to sign their Montenegrin striker Stevan Jovetic. Manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly looking to add some much needed quality to their strike-force this summer. The North-London side have been in talks to sign Jovetic for quite a while now but the Gunners are thought to of made a breakthrough.
Fiorentina are though to be holding out for a price of around £25m whereas Arsenal are confident on agreeing a fee of £19m. It is also thought that Arsenal will be eyeing another striker due to Giroud and Podolski failing to score on a regular occasion. Loic Remy, Edin Dzeko and Robert Lewandowski are thought to be on the Gunners wishlist although with Bayern favorites to sign Lewandowski and Dzeko’s wages being a stumbling block, Remy looks a more realistic signing.
Jovetic is thought to be keen on a move to the Emirates but his move is dependent on them qualifying for next seasons Champions League. An early move for the Montenegrin shows Wenger’s ambitions to strengthen the squad in the summer and finally put an end to the trophy drought.
