Luis Nani: Less pressure but more responsibility

Nani backflip

Summer-capture Nani has commended Manchester United as being the football heaven where young players could develop into world-class stars. The Portuguese winger has praised team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo and assistant manager Carlos Queiroz for helping him and newcomer Anderson settle quickly into the club. Nani did not have to overcome the abrupt change in language, as Queiroz and Ronaldo are both Portuguese speakers, and they helped him to get accustomed with the English language, slowly but steadily. Nani said that he felt more pressure when playing for Sporting Lisbon, than in the present at Manchester United.

He said that all players are responsible for their own actions at the English giant club. Players know that if they do not train hard and give it all they’ve got on the training field, they won’t be chosen by Sir Alex Ferguson. This will only affect themselves badly, as with the current depth of the squad, no player is guaranteed a first-team place.

“Nobody gets on top of us but we are the only ones responsible for our attitude. We know that if we don’t train with the maximum effort, it will be reflected in the team-sheet and the ones who will lose out will be us.” – Luis Nani
