Ruben Amorim is plotting a clear out of his Manchester United squad next year with three players set to be allowed to leave.
The Portuguese manager has added a number of new faces to his squad this season with big money spent on big names.
Bryan Mbuemo joined from Brentford while Wolves’ Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko signed for around £85million to join the ranks at Old Trafford.
It was an expensive window for Amorim who clearly wanted to build his own squad following last season’s misery in the Premier League when they finished 15th and lost to Tottenham in the Europa League Final.
United also shipped numerous fringe players out the door with Amorim’s bomb squad leaving Old Trafford either on loan or in permanent deals.
Alejandro Garnacho left for Chelsea while Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho were farmed out to Barcelona and Aston Villa respectively.
Casemiro set for Manchester United transfer exit
There will definitely be more movement to come either in January or next summer and the manager has reportedly already mapped out exits for three players.
According to the Mirror, the first star to be permitted to depart will be Brazilian midfielder Casemiro.
The 33-year-old has made five appearances this season so far and has started well enough this campaign so far, adding to his 180 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils across his three years at the club.
He cost the club £70m when he joined in 2022 but will likely leave on a free.
Another player who will join the free agency market is Sancho who was close to a switch to Chelsea before the Blues paid a penalty of £5m to renege on their obligation to buy at the end of his previous loan stint.
Does Jadon Sancho have a future at Man United?
Depending on his Villa stint – signed by the departed Monchi on loan – Sancho’s future is up in the air.
Roma wanted Sancho before his salary expectations put paid to any potential deal.
And despite also splashing out big money to take him from Borussia Dortmund, United look settled to cut their losses despite having a year option to extend his deal should they wish to until 2027.
The final of the trio expected to leave the Theatre of Dreams in 2026 is left-back Tyrell Malacia.
The former PSV Eindhoven defender was close to a loan move to Elche on the final day of this summer’s transfer window before that collapsed.
But United will look to move him on at the end of this season.
Another loan could be an option in January but he is out of contract next summer and won’t be extended.
