Ruben Amorim is close to completing the sales of all members of the so-called Manchester United “bomb squad” this week.
The manager at Old Trafford has done some big business in the summer transfer window both in and out of the club.
The likes of Benjamin Sesko arrived at United alongside Bryan Mbuemo, Matheus Cunha and goalkeeper Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp in Belgium.
Others departed the Red Devils with Victor Lindelof joining Aston Villa on a free transfer while Rasmus Hojland was confirmed at Napoli on a loan deal worth an initial £5million fee.
But Amorim has been busy with other deals throughout the summer with the apparent “bomb squad” seeing as many as four players the Portuguese gaffer did not want at the club leaving on different contracts.
Wide player Antony cried tears of joy upon joining Real Betis on a permanent deal after admitting how difficult he had found it as a fringe player at United.
Manchester United ‘bomb squad’ almost all gone from the club
The Brazilian claimed he had not been given a fair crack at the Theatre of Dreams but that he was relieved to be playing his football in Spain’s La Liga.
Marcus Rashford moved to Barcelona on loan where he will come up against his former teammate at some stage this term.
Jadon Sancho also made a switch to join Lindelof at Villa on loan while Alejandro Garnacho raked in around £40m for the club after he made his move to Chelsea on the final day of the window.
But that was only four of the five players who have been lumped into the “bomb squad”.
However, left back Tyrell Malacia could now finally be on his way out of the club to join the rest of those members if reports coming out of Turkey this week are to be believed.
Tyrell Malacia on verge of Eyuspor move
It is now being claimed that an agreement with Turkish club Eyüpspor for the transfer of former Feyenoord defender has been secured and that it could be rubber-stamped this week.
Malacia has not exactly set the heather alight for United and has made just 47 appearances in all competitions since making a £13m move from the Netherlands three years ago in 2022.
He made only four outings last term in total before he was farmed out to PSV on loan. A move which did not go down too well at the time.
Celtic wanted Malacia at the same time before a loan to Elche was close in the summer but that fell through.
Now it seems it will be a permanent escape for the 26-year-old who represents the final member of the squad Amorim has actively been looking to get rid of.
