No excuses for Nani’s dismissal

After Luis Nani was sent off in the match against West Ham, Manchester United assitant manager Carlos Queiroz’s comments were:

“We cannot tolerate situations that may compromise the player, the team and the image of the club.”

“It is strange that the referee has not seen the clip round the ears that Neill gave him but they must be prepared for these difficult moments and not react.”

“It was a response to Neill’s aggression but we cannot excuse it.”

One must wait and see what internal action will be emloyed against the Portuguese left-winger, and if Ferguson will field him in the Final of Champions League against Chelsea, where one minor mistake can spoil all the efforts that Man Utd did during the entire campaign. It is important that Nani learns his lesson and not do anything stupid again at such an important stage of the season. Just imagine what would have happened had West Ham capitalised on the fact that the Red Devils were playing with just 10 men. Players must be mature enough not to succumb to provocation of any kind.
