Premier League 2011/2012 predictions

Champions- Manchester United

In terms of Manchester United I just feel that they have and will continue to strengthen their squad while still having the required experience to win the Premier League, De Gea and Young are fantastic signings while Jones will add the strength in depth which Manchester United missed two years ago.

In the top four- Chelsea

Chelsea will add to their squad but Falcao and Mountinho will not anything to the squad because they already have 5 recognised strikers, I feel Chelsea need a season to get used to Boas’s plan I could be wrong but I feel that Chelsea need to adjust to Boas and his plan’s he is an unproven manager although Porto’s run in the Europa League was due to Hulk and Falcao most of the time and Porto’s team was far superior than any other team in  the Portugal Super league, but I feel Chelsea and Man Utd will fight for the title until the last day.

Manchester City

They need to get rid of 5 or 6 players; they need to sort the harmony out within the squad Bellamy, Adebayor and Bridge need to leave even if that is by terminating their contracts, and buy 2 or 3 in De Rossi, Hamsik and also a striker because even though they will keep Tevez and in that they have someone who can lead Man City’s attack they need someone else who can score 20 goals a season.

Arsenal

I think Wenger will keep Nasri (though by the time this is published he may be wearing a Manchester United or Chelsea shirt) and I feel that Cahill from Bolton and a number of other players will help keep Arsenal in the top four, though I could be wrong I just have a feeling that Wenger will finally spend some money not much but enough to keep the team in the top four.

In 5th and 6th

Tottenham

Harry Redknapp will have a clear out but I think Tottenham had there chance last year and they blew it, Redknapp focused on the Champions League instead on winnable games against Wigan, what Tottenham should do is stop focusing on the Olympic Stadium and start looking at getting 2 or 3 players (Rodwell, Vuckinic) who have real quality, although Redknapp always gets one good player in a season, but it will not be enough to get them into the Champions League.

Aston Villa

I am a big fan of McLeish and I feel that if he can sign Given and N’Zogbia while giving Aston Villa’s fantastic youth system a chance (Albrighton, Clarke, Delfouneso and Bannan) while giving forgotten players like Beye, Ireland and Warnock a chance Villa should be in the top 6, and prove all the doubters wrong.

Relegation places-

Norwich City

They just have not brought in players who will do the job in the Premier League, Morison did well in the Championship, yet for Wales against England he looked out of his depth, while Grant Holt really is unproven at such a level though I hope he does well, Paul Lambert seems unwilling to accept that his squad lacks any experience in the Premier League in terms of personnel, and that will be their downfall.

Swansea

In losing Pratley and De Vries, they have lost 2 key players, Graham is unproven while Sinclair did nothing for Chelsea or Wigan while in the Premier League, if they can get Senna, they will have hope but a lot of players are rejecting Swansea and that will hurt Brendan Rogers and his squad.

Blackburn Rovers

Steve Kean can say they will be in the Champions League in the next few years, but they will lose Samba and Blackburn seem to be aiming at too high a mark in terms of players (Vuckinic, Ronaldinho in January) and in doing so it means they will have to make do with Benjani and Roberts up front although I like both players, but Blackburn are aiming so high they could fall to the ultimate level, last season they showed a lot of heart but Kean wants to replace that with skill.

Fa Cup- Chelsea

Carling Cup- Sunderland

Europa League- Tottenham

Champions League- Real Madrid
