Rangers have endured a miserable start to the new Scottish Premiership campaign – and have now been trolled by their latest opponents after yet another defeat.
The Ibrox side were defeated by Hearts last weekend on Saturday afternoon in what was a poor performance and result for Russell Martin’s outfit.
The manager continues to set unwanted records as gaffer at Gers and the latest flop in front of their own home crowd took their start in the division to five matches without victory.
In fact, this season has witnessed the worst start to a campaign for the Light Blues in 47 years, leaving Martin in dire straits and facing a serious fan revolt which started weeks ago.
Lawrence Shankland nabbed a famous double for the Jambos, though, and not even a missed penalty could prevent the beaming smiles on the visiting fans’ faces in Glasgow.
Hearts troll Rangers with famous Michael Jordan quote
And their enjoyment of the day seemed to get even better after their social media admins took time to troll Rangers via TikTok with what was a hilarious viral clip.
In a short video which racked up more than 11,000 likes from 125k views, the Hearts videographer caught Gers’ mascot, Roxi Bear, ignoring handshake attempts in the build-up to the game from the visiting players.
@heartofmidlothianfc bro thought he was tuff…
In the two squad lineups the mascot clearly evaded all efforts and that seemed to stick in the craw of the visitors, albeit in a tongue-in-cheek way.
So they had the last laugh as they took Michael Jordan’s iconic line from The Last Dance miniseries on Netflix and flipped it on its head.
Accompanying their footage with Jordan’s “I took that personally” audio, Hearts shared video of the mascot’s moment followed by match highlights from the 90 or so minutes of action at Ibrox.
Russell Martin facing sack at Rangers
They showed Shankland’s first goal where he buried the ball well beyond Jack Butland in goal before adding the clip from the second goal and splicing in their supporters’ limbs in between.
The cheeky admin then threw in Roxi Bear tears for good measure in a TikTok which showed off their sense of humour – with only Rangers not laughing.
Manager Martin has not had his issues to seek this term so far.
He faced angry fans after refusing to recall Nicolas Raskin to his matchday squad following what was a fallout between player and coach.
Martin also accused Hamza Igamane of refusing to come off the bench for his side as they failed to beat St Mirren in Paisley.
The Moroccan would later be sold to Lille on deadline day.
