Three Premier League teams are reportedly interested in signing Ruben Vargas, the most valuable forward in Sevilla’s squad.
Vargas, who joined the Andalusian side from Augsburg in January 2025, is worth €12 million, according to Transfermarkt. Only Juanlu Sanchez, who is worth €15 million, is more valuable than the 27-year-old in the Sevilla squad.
Vargas was close to joining Villarreal last summer, but Sevilla ultimately blocked the move.
Since his move to the Juan Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium in January, he has become one of the most influential players under Matias Almeyda.
Vargas has played 12 LaLiga matches for the club this season, scoring three goals and providing four assists.
Three Premier League Clubs Interested in Sevilla Star Ruben Vargas
According to ABC (via Mundo Deportivo), Ruben Vargas’ performances this season have caught the attention of some prominent teams, including three in the Premier League.
Leeds United, Bournemouth, and Sunderland are all exploring the possibility of signing the player in the January transfer window.
Leeds (16th) and Bournemouth (15th) find themselves towards the bottom of the Premier League table. They need to improve in the second half of the season to retain their place in the English top flight.
The Cherries are believed to be pushing the hardest for the move.

Reports suggest their star forward Antoine Semenyo has agreed terms with Liverpool and could leave in January. They see Vargas as a potential replacement for the Ghana international.
Sunderland, meanwhile, are in seventh place and are trying to secure European football for next season.
Although the Black Cats have exceeded expectations, their recent form has not been satisfactory. They have only won one of their last five Premier League matches, drawing three and losing one.
All three clubs believe Vargas’ dynamic profile would help them achieve their goals in 2026. They have made contact with Sevilla, trying to convince them to sell, but the LaLiga side have yet to respond positively.
Sevilla Want a More Significant Offer for Vargas
According to the aforementioned report, Sevilla have received offers in the region of €10 million for the winger. Considering his importance, Sevilla find the offers insufficient.
They reportedly rejected a higher bid from Villarreal in the summer of 2025.
Sevilla believe Vargas will be a part of Switzerland’s World Cup squad and are expecting his market value to increase after the tournament.
So, they are unwilling to consider any offer below €20-25 million for the player.
Sevilla, however, are open to a sale in January, but they are more inclined to offload Juanlu Sanchez instead.
Juanlu has also drawn interest this season, with Napoli, Bayer Leverkusen, and Everton keen on signing him. Being the most valuable player in the squad, the right-back is expected to fetch Sevilla a sizable fee.
