Referee Mike Tumilty postponed his second Rangers match of the season at McDiarmid Park after temperatures plummeted overnight. Tumilty and the SFA were under criticism last night on numerous phone-ins due to the timing of the decision, which was only confirmed an hour before kick-off which thousands of Rangers fans in Perth.
Manager Walter Smith agreed with Tumilty’s decision and said “It’s disappointing, but in fairness it’s the right decision”.
Rangers’ next match will be on Sunday, against Celtic.
