Thierry Henry: Titles are coming for Arsenal

Former Arsenal sharpshooter and fan favourite Thierry Henry has backed Arsene Wenger’s young side to claim some silverware in the near future.

The New York Red Bull’s French front man has been training with the side that he scored 174 league goals for between 1999 and 2007, to keep fit for the upcoming MLS season.

Speaking after picking up the Football Writers Association Tribute Award last night, Henry says the mood among the players is positive, and that they are confident on claiming some silverware.

“The guys in the Arsenal dressing room are confident. It all depends on them – Arsenal play the best Football.”

“This generation are talented, there is just that little piece of silverware missing”

Henry says he has become an Arsenal fan and says, like every other fan, he wants them to bring some trophies to the Emirates.

Meanwhile, Henry said he will be divided when his two former teams clash in the Champions League last 16. Arsenal take on Barcelona in what is set to be one of the matches of the Champions League so far, with both teams renowned for their attacking style of football.

Claiming that these two teams are the “two best teams in terms of football” and that “both clubs play the way football should be played”.

“I’m and Arsenal fan but I have a lot of friends at Barca so it will be a difficult one for me. I think for the neutral it will be an amazing game though.”
