Trophy hunting

With the so called ‘top four’ winning trophies, there’s only team not to have won a trophy for a few years.

Having won the FA cup in 2005, the Premiership in 2004 and reaching the final of UEFA Champions League in 2005-2006, not much has gone in Arsenal favour since these glory days.

Many big names such as Robin Van Persie, Cesc Fabregas and Emmanuel Adebayor have been reported to be fed up with trophy less winning seasons, increasing speculation they are willing to move away from North London.

Although the Gunners haven’t came close to winning the league this season, they have put themselves with a glorious chance in two competitions. Those two are the FA cup and the elusive European Champions League.

With Arsene Wenger’s side facing the resurgent Chelsea under Guus Hiddink in domestic cup semi’s, it guarantees no straight road to the cup final. With either Manchester United or Everton waiting for them in the final, there are two difficult games that can potentially bring a smile on all Arsenal’s faces.

Lifting the FA cup would certainly be a huge boost for the fans and players, which comes after an injury hit season to key players at the Emirates. Europe brings a great opportunity to the North London side, after bringing home an away goal from Villarreal and are now looking favourites to progress. 5 more Europe games can make this side, which have been indifferent this season, legends.

With Manuel Alumina in goal and the strong defence there is a huge buzz around Arsenal with a huge expectancy of at least bringing home 1 trophy for fans. The French manager believes that it’s the team that should be responsible for the trophy search still being on track, not just individuals.

“I think what is important is that the team has a good collective performance,” added the managerial legend.

“I am confident we can score goals, we did before anyway. What is important to us this time is that we’re a team who are relying on the quality of our passing and collective play.”

Personally I believe that we would win the Champions League and what a victory that would be, being victorious in Rome twice. Priceless.
