From Wales, to glory – Swansea City.

It wasn’t long ago when Swansea City were playing average football in the Championship, but this season has turned out to be a fairytale run for them. February 24^th 2013 – The day Swansea City returned to Wales with the club’s first ever major trophy, in the bag. Not only that, but also a Europa League campaign, next season. Unlike some managers, such as Alan Pardew, Landrup doesn’t feel that he needs to expand his squad, following a Europa League campaign. Idealizing Barcelona, Landrup believes that his current squad will be able to handle the pressure. He further added to that by saying that two players, a total of twenty two players, would be good enough. While some clubs in Swansea’s position would surely be daunted by the prospect of a European campaign, Swansea have indeed shown their mettle, under manager, Michael Landrup. Despite the departure of star players, Scott Sinclair and Joe Allen, to Manchester City and Liverpool, respectively, Landrup has managed to build a team that would surely be a force to be reckoned with, in times to come. The tactics and passing style has worked for them, formidably and they are gradually developing into a strong Premier League side. From marquee signings in the face of Michu and Pablo Hernandez, to his on-pitch strategies and tactics, to his calm attitude off-pitch, Michael Landrup has indeed done wonders at the Welsh club, since his arrival. Michu has been Swansea’s star man, this season. This surprise package, upon its arrival from Spain, just cost the club two million. Bargain of the season, without a doubt. One season wonder? That only time will tell. He’s already attracting interest from all the top clubs of Europe and is already worth much more than what he actually cost Swansea. Landrup wouldn’t mind selling off Michu for a price above ten-fifteen million. That’d be business, well done. Swansea captain, Ashley Williams, is another top-class defender who has attracted interest from Europe’s top giants including, Manchester United and Arsenal. Keeping hold of star players should be Landrup’s real test. More importantly, the club will be facing a tough time ahead, after Manchester City have embarked their interest in the profilic Dane himself, Michael Landrup, after Roberto Mancini failed to impress the club’s billionaire owners, this season.
