Solskjaer to coach Reserves

Solskjaer

Retired Man Utd striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had joined the Man Utd coaching staff last season after retiring from football after a recurring injury. He has been the player to score the winning goal in the 1999 UEFA Champions League Final against Bayern Munich. Next season, Solskjaer will be given the responsibility of coaching the Reserves team of Man Utd, confirmed Ferguson, who said that it will be a difficult job, but one which Ole could manage and prove his coaching credentials.

“Coaching the reserve side is a difficult job now. You don’t have a consistent squad of players because they change every week and it is only a slight advancement on youth football because there are so few teams playing experienced players in it.

“That is one of the reasons we started loaning players out in numbers. We have half-a-dozen going out every year now and that needs managing as well.” – Sir Alex Ferguson
