Manchester United watching goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard

It was reported that the goalkeeper coach of Manchester United Eric Steele, mentioned this week when he stated that this is probably Edwin van der Sar’s last season before retiring, was in Norway on Sunday night. Reports state that he was watching Aalesund goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard as Manchester United keep looking for the best man to wear the Number One jersey after Edwin retires and guard the Man Utd goalpost. Anders is one of the goalkeepers catching the eye of the Red Devils.

Lindegaard is a 26 years old goalkeeper, with a height of 1.93 metres (5 cm less that Van der Sar), from Denmark. He made his international debut on the 7th September 2010 in the Euro 2012 qualifying match against Iceland, which finished with a 1-0 score meaning a clean-sheet for Lindegaard. On Sunday, Lindegaard conceded twice in the 2-1 loss to Stabaeck in the Norwegian league, but his performance was still praised. Aalesund are expecting a bid in January or next summer for their goalkeeper, and other clubs interested in his services are Arsenal, Milan and Liverpool. United are still analysing this goalkeeper talent, as he is a relatively new face in the spotlight, having featured for Aalesund only since 2009, after joining from Danish club Odense Boldklub where he only made 11 appearances.
