A funny commercial on Croatian national TV

I don’t know if there’s this show, The weakest link, going on in your countries, but this is how Croatian market experts used it to promote their program during the Euro. I’ll post the video, but as it’s in Croatian, I’ll try to translate everything below.

The introductor and person who raises the questions is usual manager of the show, Danijela Trbović, and the “competitors” are the persons who will lead the program during the Euro and football commentators.

So, first Danijela says: “Let’s play The weakest link. The first question, time starts. Goran, who is the only player who scored on the World Cups for two different representations?”

Goran answers: “Maybe even three, ex Yuga (Yugoslavia), Croatia, not for Bosnia…. so that could be me”

Danijela:”Incorrect.That was Robert Prosinečki. Lana, which international sing star is married for the international football star?”

Lana,who is a singer answers:”It’s not me for sure, I mean not this first, but this second….so that could be Jelena KarleuÅ¡a”

Danijela:”Inessential.Bigger star is Victoria Beckham. Dražen, what was the color of Belgian jerseys on Euro in Portugal?”

Dražen:”Well, red!”

Danijela:”Incorrect.Belgium didn’t even play in Portugal. Marina, what does footballers and mannequins have in common?”

Marina:”Good legs”

Danijela:”Common is general culture. Bruno, if a referee shows a red card to a player, what does he has to do?”

Bruno:”Curse his mother”

Danijela:”Incorrect, he has to leave the field. Zlata, who won the gold in Portugal?”

Zlata:”Anica Kovač (the wife of Robert Kovač). Robert bought her a golden ring and a golden chain in Fatima. And his brother, as well.” (this last sentence is from one political commercial which Niko Kovač made for one party during the elections in Croatia and now everybody makes jokes of it…)

Danijela:”Incorrect. Greece took the gold. Tomislav, against which small European country Croatia has scored the most goals in qualifications for Euro?

Tomislav:”England. Errhh, Andorra.”

Danijela:”Correct, but time’s up. You didn’t show yourselves. You’ve earned nice, round sum: zero. Who will go home staggering? Who doesn’t have neither in head nor in legs? Throw out the weakest link. The voting is ended. Who is the weakest link?”

now everybody says Danijela and Tomislav says: “Danijela, I think your time is up.”

Danijela:”I’m the weakest link? Good bye! They threw me out because I’m the best…I think that in the next stage, because of the concentration droop, will fall out… Poland and Austria, or maybe even Germany.”
