Scotland have release the away kit to be worn for the coming European qualification campaign under the banner;
“Be Stronger, Be Scotland”.
Scotland’s James McFadden
The shirt will be yellow with blue Adidas tri-stripes on the arms. The national crest is emblazoned, large upon the chest in a darker shade of yellow and a smaller crest and Adidas logo are situated on the left and right sides respectively. The long shorts are dark blue in colour again with the adidas stripes and the socks yellow, alike the shirt.
The goalkeeping kit will be all red with white stripes down the arms and sides of shorts.
Scotland No.1 Craig Gordon
In many ways the shirt resembles national kit of Sweden. This could have been a problem given that Scotland’s next friendly game is against Sweden in Stockholm however the Swedes have graciously accepted to play in their change strip for the fixture.
Scotland manager Craig Levein was obviously impressed saying:
“The squad were very impressed with the adidas home kit we wore for the first time against the Czech Republic and I am sure that they will feel similarly about the new away kit.
“There is something about the adidas brand that makes players feel that little bit more
special when they take to the field and we hope that we can continue our winning ways in the new kit against Sweden.”
The kit also resembles the World Cup 1986 away and maybe the intention is to inspire the team to match the long lost “greatness” of yester-year, although considering our opponents in Group I are Spain a superhero cape might of also been included.
