Premier League 2025/26 Predictions As TV Pundits Debate Liverpool, Manchester City Or Arsenal

Liverpool tactical changes under Arne Slot

The new Premier League season is finally upon us and the debate as to which club will win it is in full flow.

Predicting the winners is always a difficult challenge, as the gleeful bookies will tell you, but that has never stopped the discussion from raging on.

Holders Liverpool have signed well in the summer transfer window so far and the Reds continue to chase Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak as they look to strengthen further.

Pep Guardiola at Manchester City is another who has added depth to his squad at the Etihad and the Spaniard will be desperate to see those acquisitions bear fruit domestically and in Europe this term.

Pundits’ Premier League 2025/26 predictions

Arsenal have become a serious player in the division over the past number of years with Mikel Arteta hopeful the signing of Viktor Gyokeres can take his side from nearly-men to champions.

There are other clubs who have been on the fringes of success previously who could stun the league this year, making this campaign one of the toughest to predict in recent times.

Here is what Sky Sports and TNT Sports’ pundits and former pros on The Rest is Football pod have had to say on who they reckon might lift the silverware come the end of May in 2026.

Joe Cole

“I think Liverpool are probably the most clear favourites to win the league than we’ve seen in 10 years. The best have got better again and they’ve raised the bar.”

Alan Shearer

“I’ve got Liverpool for the title. I think Arsenal will challenge but they may fall short again.

“I think Arsenal, Chelsea and City will all be playing for second place. City will be better than last season but I don’t think they’ll have enough.”

Micah Richards

“I still don’t know if (Gyokeres) is enough to get Arsenal over the line. I think one or two injuries and they’re back to the same as last season. I’d say challengers, not champions.

“I have to go with Liverpool. Bringing in Wirtz, people don’t realise how good this player is. He was good in pre-season and is exactly what they needed as well.

“If Rodri was fit I’d say it would be a race to the end but losing him is massive (for City). If he was fit I’d say Man City win the league. The balance of the team is better when he’s in there, but he’ll miss the start of the season. To claw back them points against Liverpool who have so many options, it’s gonna be difficult.”

Ally McCoist

“I’ve gone for Liverpool. I thought they were fantastic last year, their level of consistency was brilliant. And I love the signings.”

Robbie Fowler

“I think Liverpool will have to work hard for it, it’s not a foregone conclusion. The players they’ve signed have made the squad better.

“I have a few worries if I’m being honest but as the season goes on I think they’ll work it out. Arne Slot is a great manager and will bring the best out of his team.”

Gary Lineker

“It’s hard to go against Liverpool as they won the league so comfortably last season and they look a stronger squad now. I think they’ll miss Trent’s creativity but I think they’re gonna win again.”

Gary Neville

“I’ve got to go Arsenal again, I’ve got to double down, haven’t I?

“I’ve gone there the last two seasons and they finished second in the last three seasons, actually. I didn’t back them the first season, I backed (Manchester) City, but I backed them the last two and I’m going to stick with them.”
