Kilmarnock vs Celtic Betting Tips, Correct Score Prediction and Suggested Bet Builders

Celtic make the short trip to Kilmarnock this weekend as the two sides face off in Scottish Premiership action.

The Hoops have not had their troubles to seek off the pitch and their fanbase is planning a protest ahead of this one following a dismal transfer window.

On the pitch for Brendan Rodgers’ side has been better with 10 points from their opening four outings but their drab draw vs Rangers before the international break inspired nobody.

Since then, though, Celts have signed Kelechi Iheanacho on a free and spent more than £5million on Sebastian Tounekti from Hammarby so they have attackers ready.

Killie are on a decent run of their own albeit they are yet to pick up a win in the Scottish Premiership. This weekend, obviously, would be the ideal time and against the perfect opponent to do so and boost momentum.

Leading football betting sites reckon Killie are a long-shot, though, at 19/2 while even a draw is unlikely and as heavy as 5/1. A Celtic win is 1/4 odds.

Kilmarnock: 19/2

Celtic: 1/4

Kilmarnock vs Celtic: Correct Score Prediction

The hosts this weekend are yet to be beaten in Scottish Premiership action with four draws and four points. Manager Stuart Kettlewell has taken some time for his side to settle but they are beginning to compete.

Killie’s record vs Celtic is not great, though, and in the recent matches, the Hoops have come out on top in five from five.

Derek McInnes could eek out a result vs Celts at times, but they are a different challenge now and it would not be the smart play to bet against the champions.

A 2-0 away win (priced around 11/2) looks a decent shout.

Kilmarnock vs Celtic Bet Builder Tips

Here are three picks that make sense to us for Sunday’s showdown:

Daizen Maeda anytime scorer @ Evens

The Japanese attacker wanted a Celtic exit this summer and revealed as much during his international break with his country. He is yet to hit the heights for the club since the beginning of the campaign and that could be a reason why.

Now that the 27-year-old knows he won’t be moving, his full focus will be on Celtic and we reckon he’ll begin to find his form.

Both Teams To Score @ 10/11

Celtic obviously have plenty of attacking options and their new Bhoys could well be given the chance to shine. But Killie are not afraid of throwing bodies forward, either, and they have netted 12 goals in their last six.

Playing this one at home should also provide motivation to have a go.

Celtic/Celtic half-time/full-time @ 8/11

Rodgers’ troops owe their fans a performance and a win after a torrid 0-0 draw with Rangers as well as two other goalless affairs vs Kairat Almaty as they were knocked out of the Champions League.

They should have the bit between their teeth to go out at Rugby Park and score early on and maintain their lead.

To win both halves may be odds-on but it remains likely and adds to our treble nicely.

Kilmarnock vs Celtic Team News

Scott Tiffoney is missing for the home side with a calf issue while Brad Lyons is doubtful having come off against Motherwell with a hamstring tweak.

Jamie Brandon has also been missing in recent times with a problem and could be sidelined for Celtic visit.

For the Hoops, meanwhile, Jota and Alistair Johnston are definitely out as is Auston Trusty while Anthony Ralston pulled out of Scotland duty so might miss which would see Colby Donovan deputise.

Reo Hatate is not always trusted on a plastic pitch but there could be debuts for Kelechi Iheanacho and Sebastian Tounekti.
