Barcelona Lead LaLiga in Goals in 2025 — Real Madrid Are a Distant Second

Barcelona Players Celebrating in the Champions League

Hansi Flick’s Barcelona have scored the most goals in LaLiga in 2025, proving they have the most formidable attack in the division.

Real Madrid, despite having Pichichi holder and favourite Kylian Mbappe in their ranks, are a distant second.

Barcelona Have the Best Attack in LaLiga in 2025

Hansi Flick has brought the groove back to Barcelona. Under his tutelage, the Blaugrana have played a more direct and aggressive brand of football. They still love to hold on to possession, but it is no longer their defining trend.

Flick’s Barcelona aim to win possession further up the pitch, overload the final third, and score through one of their multiple world-class attackers.

This strategy is high-risk and high-reward, but for the most part, they have successfully executed it.

In the 2025 calendar year, Barcelona have played 36 LaLiga matches, with one still to come against Villarreal on Sunday. They dropped points in only six of those matches, suffering three defeats and settling for three draws.

Their attack has been by far the best in the division, producing 100 goals with an average of 2.77 goals per game. Robert Lewandowski emerged as the biggest contributor, scoring 19 goals in LaLiga in 2025.

His output is staggering, considering the Polish striker is in the twilight of his career. The club have already started looking for his replacement, with reports suggesting Barcelona could splurge €90m on Lewandowski’s replacement.

Ferran Torres, who has become one of the first names on the Flick’s team sheet this season, chipped in with 18 LaLiga goals in 2025. Raphinha and Lamine Yamal scored 21 goals between them.

Real Madrid Attack Struggling to Impress

When Kylian Mbappe joined Real Madrid at the start of the 2024/25 season, fans expected them to take LaLiga by storm, and for good reason.

Between Mbappe, Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo, and Jude Bellingham, Los Blancos boasted one of the best attacks in Europe.

Eighteen months in, Real Madrid’s star-studded attack is still struggling to hit top gear.

Mbappe has hit Real Madrid milestone of 70 goals in only 81 games, with only the club’s all-time top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo scoring more goals at this stage (75). However, Vinicius Jr., Bellingham, and Rodrygo have seen a steep dip in goal output.

As a result, Real Madrid have only scored 71 goals in 37 LaLiga games – 29 fewer than rivals Barcelona despite playing one game more. Mbappe contributed 38 goals to Madrid’s total of 71, indicating their over-reliance on the Frenchman.

Vinicius Jr. has scored only eight LaLiga goals in 2025, while Rodrygo has only found the net three times. Rodrygo scored his first LaLiga goal of the season in Madrid’s 2-1 win over Deportivo Alaves on Sunday.

As for Bellingham, switching to a more conservative role has taken a toll on his attacking output. The Englishman has so far scored just six LaLiga goals for Real Madrid in 2025.

Unless Real Madrid find a balance in their attack, it could be difficult for them to overcome the four-point deficit to Barcelona in the 2025/26 LaLiga title race.
