Nottingham Forest boss Sean Dyche has offered an injury update on Callum Hudson-Odoi ahead of Tuesday’s must-win game against West Ham.

Forest make the trip to East London in midweek in what promises to be a nervy encounter.

Seventeenth-placed Forest take on 18th-placed West Ham in a true relegation six-pointer.

The pair have taken just one point between them in their last four matches.

And with Forest four points ahead of West Ham, this one is an absolute must-win for both in the Premier League relegation battle.

Sean Dyche’s side are on a four-game losing streak heading into this one, and face a nervous wait over one of their key players.

West Ham, who sold striker Niclas Fullkrug to AC Milan this week, were beaten 3-0 by bottom club Wolves over the weekend.

Saturday’s 3-1 loss at Aston Villa made it four defeats in a row for Forest.

They were missing winger Callum Hudson-Odoi at Villa Park, and he remains a doubt for Tuesday’s clash with the Irons.

“We’ll have to wait and see,” said Dyche.

“He didn’t make Saturday, quite obviously, and he couldn’t make it on the bench so we’ll have to wait and see. It was a sore Achilles.”

Forest remain without striker Chris Wood (knee) and midfielder Ryan Yates (hamstring).

Meanwhile, both Wily Boly and Ibrahim Sangare and Willy Boly are away representing their countries at the Africa Cup of Nations.

But the return of fullback Ola Aina was a positive boost for Forest after a long-term hamstring issue.

Nottingham Forest Goalkeeper Issues Continue

Elsewhere, another headache emerged for Dyche with the loss of goalkeeper John Victor.

Victor, who was at fault for Villa’s third goal, went off with a calf problems 10 minutes from the end.

The Brazilian had kept his place ahead of last season’s Golden Glove winner Matz Sels, despite the latter’s return from injury.

But Sels is now set to retake the starting spot on Tuesday, with Victor out.

For Dyche, it’s not as simple as having a number one and number two keeper this season.

“Well, there’s been a real close contest between them two,” Dyche said.

“I’ve spoken to both of them about it.

“I thought John had done enough [against Villa]. Early on, he made a brilliant save from a point-blank chance. It’s very unfortunate for him and unfortunate for us a big mistake occurred.”

But if Forest are to move away from trouble, Dyche stressed the entire squad must do better.

He also played down the importance of Tuesday’s West Ham clash in isolation.

Dyche added: “It’s not just about one game though. It’s not just about playing West Ham.

“There’s all the games that come after that in the league, there’s all the Europa games that come, there’s the FA Cup game. It’s the mentality that’s brought up the whole squad.”

Forest’s trip to West Ham kicks off at 20:00 on Tuesday at the London Stadium.
