Tottenham Considering £25 Million Move For West Ham Attacker

Crysencio Summerville West Ham Tottenham

Tottenham are lining up a potential move for West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville before the end of the January window.

It’s been another Premier League season to forget for Tottenham so far.

Spurs sit 14th in the table, closer to the relegation zone than league leaders Arsenal.

Tottenham’s home form has been of particular concern to manager Thomas Frank.

They have the worst home record in the Premier League of any team bar the bottom three.

And left wing has been a major area of weakness throughout the campaign.

Reinforcements are clearly needed if the club are to salvage their season and push up the table.

Tottenham signed Conor Gallagher last week from Atletico Madrid, fixing a major hole in midfield.

But they remain short of options out wide, and have now identified West Ham’s Crysencio Summerville as a top target.

Tottenham Plotting Move For West Ham’s Crysencio Summerville

As it stands, Thomas Frank’s options on the left are extremely limited.

He has been utilising young Wilson Odobert on the flank in recent weeks. But the Frenchman is still developing, and has struggled for consistency.

And with Brennan Johnson joining Crystal Palace, the need for a new winger is even more urgent.

Since the departure of Son Heung-Min, Spurs have been lacking out wide.

But Summerville could be the man to finally fill the hole left by Son.

West Ham have been dreadful this season, but Summerville has been a shining light.

The 24-year-old scored the opener as the Irons beat Spurs 2-1 in their recent meeting,

And given his age and potential for improvement, Tottenham see him as a long-term solution.

Valued at around £25 million by West Ham, Summerville would not break the bank fora club like Spurs, making a deal even more attractive.

How Would Summerville Fit In At Tottenham?

One of the few West Ham players to be able to hold their head up high this season, Summerville has shone in an underperforming team.

His pace, attacking flair and excellent dribbling have been crucial in winning the Irons what points they do have.

Summerville would undoubtedly slot straight into Thomas Frank’s starting XI.

This would, however likely be the end of Mathys Tel’s time at Tottenham.

If Summerville does come in, he would displace the Frenchman and be clearly the better option.

As a result, Tel would likely need to look elsewhere for opportunities.

West Ham will be reluctant to sell one of their best attacking weapons in the midst of a relegation battle.

But the reality of modern football means they will be almost powerless to block a move if Tottenham make a reasonable bid.
