In Today’s match against Sampdoria, one man showed how true loyal he is to his team-mates. Having opened the score for Juve, thus advancing a goal ahead of Trezegeut and Borrielo in the Top Scorer list, Juve were awarded a penalty and the Golden Boy left team-mate Trezegol to take it so as to try and level things out on the CapoCannoniere award. Del Piero is Juve’s penalty taker and Trezegeut rarely takes penalties yet true amicable action by Del Piero. Furthermore to the great match he had this afternoon, he netted his second and Juve’s third from a second penalty, this time as things were level he made no mistake and sent Mirante the wrong way. This leaves Del Piero with 21 goals in the Serie A, team-mate Trezegeut 20 goals and Genoa striker Borriello with 19 goals and a game still to play tomorrow. We’ll have to wait and see whether Borriello nets more than a goal tomorrow and this should give Del Piero a further boost to his Euro 08 chances.
