Anderson: Thanks for the support!

Anderson

Anderson has said that he is loving life in Manchester and that it is a dream come true to be playing regularly for the English giants. Anderson was captured last summer from Porto, as Fergie did not want to make the same mistake he did some years ago by spotting Ronaldinho’s talent and failing to make a move for him. Anderson was supposed to be a player of the future, someone who could challenge the present midfield department in a year or two. Man Utd did not have much Brazilians in their squad in the club’s history, with the capture of Kleberson being a waste of money and a huge transfer blunder. Fergie spotted Anderson’s enormous potential, but he surely did not expect him to settle so well in his first season, and challenge the other midfielders to the extent that he has earned a regular first-team place.

At the beginning of his Man Utd career, Anderson was being carried away by fame. He was regularly attending nightclubs, spending nights with women and focussing very little during training. It was the paternal figure of Sir Alex Ferguson that brought the wonderkid back on the right track. For all the things that are happening in his life right now, Anderson thanks his manager Sir Alex Ferguson and the players who helped him settle down and improve his game to the Premiership and Man Utd standards. Anderson is only 19 years old and he can improve so much that he may be considered one of Man Utd’s best players, and mentioned in the same breath as Brazilian superstar team-mate Ronaldinho. At Manchester United, he is at the right club to achieve all that.

“It was a wonderful surprise, a wonderful beginning to come to Manchester United, get the support, start playing, playing well, and this reflects the way I feel now – very confident and very relaxed.” – Anderson
