Barclays Premier League Review

This weekend in the English Premiere League was not so exciting but was a table changing and somewhat unexpected one.Manchester United extended their League over “Title Rivals” Manchester City as they drew at Loftus Road, The final Score line was 0-0,with that being spoken the highly rated and in form striker who plays for Manchester United,Robin Van Persie, uncharacteristically failed to score after building up to a sensational goal scoring streak which was put to rest by Southampton. A brace from Wayne Rooney helped “The red Devils” win at Old Trafford.

The match of the weekend though in the Premiere League was Arsenal vs Liverpool .It turned out to be a great one where Luis Suarez scored in the 5th Minute. Then Liverpool extended their lead through Jordan Henderson on the 60th minute but  just 5 minutes later Olivier Giroud scored a wonderful goal which was followed by a brisk finish by Theo Walcott just 2 minutes later. The match was an absolute cracker but was by far not which is expected in big matches such as this in the premiere League.

Chelsea and Tottenham also drew in their respective matches.Chelsea faced Reading at the Madejski stadium.Juan Mata opened the scoring charts in this fixture when Fernando Torres provided an absolute beauty to Juan Mata.  This goal was followed by a wonderful header by Frank Lampard who is in talks with several clubs because Chelsea won’t sign a new contract with him.He continued his blistering goal scoring form which took Chelsea to a comfortable 2-0 lead and Frank Lampard one goal closer to Bobby Tambling to become the ‘All time top scorer in Chelsea’s history’.This lead was however to disappear when Adam Le fondre’s two late goals, one on  the 87th and the other in the 9oth minute of the game and Chelsea once again threw away a very healthy 2 goal lead.

Mean while Tottenham were struggling at Carrow road when Wesley Hoolahan struck first for Norwich. The rest of the game was all square and both sides were pretty much even and that was to be justified when a 80th minute Gareth Bale goal saved Tottenham from a major upset.
