Tottenham’s new loan signing Frazier Campbell has scupperd the prospect of a permanent move to Spurs by declaring; ” I want to get a place in his (Alex Ferguson’s) team.
The 20 year old moved to the Lane on loan in a deal which saw Berbatov head the other way in a £30.25mil move. Campbell’s on loan until the end of the season. As part of the Berbatov deal, however, Spurs can activate a claus in Campbell’s contract and bring him to White Hart Lane on a permanent basis. Alas; Campbell see’s not.
He told BBC London Radio; “I’ve had various meetings with him (Ferguson) and I’m in his plans for the future.
“Hopefully I can get some experience, come back and get a place in his team.”
Despite these comments, Campbell did try to assure Spurs fan’s that he would give it his all whilst on loan at the club.
“Hopefully I can get in the team and hold down a regular first-team place and score a few goals, but most importantly learn from the experience.”
“It’s an exciting time for me, it’s a great loan move that I’ve managed to get on. I want to start matches and score goals for Tottenham.”

Campbell is likely to fight Darren Bent, Gio Dos Santos and new boy Roman Pavlyuchenko for a forward place for Tottenham. He has only played in 2 competitive games for Manchester United, but impressed whilst playing for Hull on loan last season.
Campbell scored 15 goals for Hull and nearly re-joined the club permanently in the transfer window. Hull were prepared to pay £7mil for the forward, but their bid was rejected by United. Campbell told BBC London that he wasn’t too upset at the deal falling through.
“I enjoyed my time at Hull and I’m thankful to all the people there but this is a new season and I have to concentrate on my new loan club.”
Meanwhile, a number of younger Spurs fan’s were left dissapointed after finding out they couldn’t buy a Spurs replica shirt with ‘PAVLYUCHENKO’ plasterd on the back. Apparantly the name is too big to fit onto junior shirts. Oh well, at least Tottenham’s team doesn’t include these players…
Goalie- Kasper Schmeichel
Defence- Rabesandratana(ex PSG), Boulahrouz, Giovanni Van Bronkhurst
Midfield- S Wright-Phillips, Juninho Pernambucano, Manuel Henriques Tavares Fernandes, Schweinsteiger
Forwards- B Wright-Phillips, J Venegoor of Hesselink, Pavlyuchenko
And not only would that be a very long-named team, It would also be a very rubbish team!
