Today, The Mirror has reported that Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to offer cash plus Louis Saha to Wigan, in order to tempt them to sell Luis Antonio Valencia. It has been reported that Steve Bruce would want £5 million for the 22-year-old left/right winger from Ecuador. Valencia has been playing really well for Wigan and he justifies the price tag of £5 million. Luis Valencia’s agent was reported saying that nothing can stop Valencia’s departure in the Summer of 2008.
It also points out that Ferguson is growing tired of Louis Saha, as the French striker is not delivering goals or good performances. Saha has never really recuperated from injuries at the Red Devils, and rarely had a long run in the first team. It seems that Saha’s place would be taken by Manucho next season, with the possibility of bringing in a very young player for the future. This can turn out to be a double-swoop for Wigan players by Man Utd, with the club also linked with Palacios.
