Vidic and Rooney fit for Wigan battle?

National tabloid, The Sun, has reported that star players Wayne Rooney and Nemanja Vidic may be fit for United’s crucial final game against Wigan this weekend.

It is understood that Vidic has declared himself fit, while Rooney reportedly responded excellently to an intensive training session yesterday.

The Liverpool-born striker was thought to have suffered a painful hernia, but a source from within the club has suggested that Rooney was extremely active in the training session, “whizzing around and flying into tackles. Not once did he wince. He’s a tough cookie and this is not going to keep him out”.
