Premier League side Crystal Palace have hit a roadblock in their pursuit of Barcelona youngster Roony Bardghji.
Despite guaranteeing him a more prominent role in the team, the Eagles have failed to persuade the 20-year-old to join them in the January transfer window.
Roony Bardghji Turns Down Crystal Palace Move
Barcelona signed Roony Bardghji from Copenhagen for around €2 million in the summer transfer window. Initially, they were expected to sell him the same summer for a higher price.
However, the youngster impressed Hansi Flick in training and has become a fixture in the matchday squad.
He has played 13 games in all competitions, scoring one goal and providing two assists. Barcelona legend Michael Laudrup has lauded Bardghji, saying he has defied expectations.
His performances have captured the attention of some of the most elite teams in Europe, including last season’s FA Cup winners, Crystal Palace.
Barcelona winger Roony Bardghji is determined to fight for his future at Camp Nou and knuckle down at the club.
He has rejected a number of proposals from the Premier League, including:

Oliver Glasner’s side are looking for a dynamic right-winger and had identified Bardghji as a potential target. According to Fichajes.net, they offered him regular playing time and short-term prominence.
But despite the allure of playing for one of the most promising teams in the Premier League, Bardghji has decided to stay put.
As per the aforementioned report, Palace are not the only team the Sweden international has turned down. Everton, Brighton & Hove Albion, Nottingham Forest, and Sunderland have also failed in their efforts to bring the player to England.
Bardghji Only Wants to Succeed at Barcelona
Roony Bardghji understands that a move to a smaller club would allow him more playing time. However, he is completely committed to succeeding at Barcelona.
The young forward believes leaving after such a promising start would hurt his chances of reaching his goal. He wants to stay in the Barca hierarchy and eventually become a fixture in the starting XI.
The Barcelona management and coaching staff have been impressed by Bardghji’s decision. After a period of confusion, Barca have once again placed youngsters at the heart of their project. They want young players to commit to the project instead of accepting the first prominent offer.

Bardghji has set an example by turning down a move to the Premier League. He understands that he will not get any special concessions and is committed to succeeding on merit.
With the LaLiga title fight heating up, Flick could give him more minutes to keep his first-team players fresh.
The Copa del Rey also presents another excellent opportunity for the player to show his level. The Blaugrana have historically favoured youngsters in the Spanish Cup, and Bardghji has shown he is prepared to take on more responsibility.
