Daily Express churns out more tripe

‘NEW HEARTS BOSS IS GOLD-DIGGER SAY AFRICANS’ read the headline in today’s Daily Express, the ‘world’s greatest newspaper’, God help us. This story, which is about Laszlo Csaba, is accompanied with a picture of Ian Holloway, who has recently been linked with the Hearts job. However, there is no mention of him in the article.

The headline to this story is awful. For a start where have you ever seen a hyphen between the words ‘gold digger’? Further, Csaba is not the new Hearts boss, yet.

Rant over.

What the article does tell us however is that according to Lawrence Mulindwa the President of the Ugandan FA, Csaba is probably motivated by money. “I told Csaba that it would be a wrong move for him, but you could see his heart is elsewhere,” he said. “His heart is not fully with us now and I cannot force him to stay. Maybe it is the money factor.”

Elsewhere in the piece it is claimed that, should he take the Hearts position, Csaba already has his no.2 lined up in the form of Uganda under-20 coach Jackson Mayanja. Although Hearts have since denied that an African will be appointed assistant manager.

The paper also speculates that three Uganda internationals could soon find themselves at Tynecastle – full back David Obua, defender Hassan Wasswa and striker Geoffrey Massa, who play for Kaiser Chiefs (South Africa), St.George (Ethiopia) and Al Masara (Egypt) respectively.
