Rovers make their first TV appearance of the season tomorrow against Jim Magilton’s Ipswich Town. Rovers enter this game on the back of an horrific 12 game winless streak and Sean O’Driscoll must be hoping that his tactics, which have thus far produced an attractive style of play but few decent results, can start to regularly gain 3 points.
Ipswich on the other hand come into the game undefeated in their last 6, with a handy 1-0 win away at Blackpool last week. The only problem for the Suffolk club recently has been the upset caused by midfielder David Norris, who sparked outrage with his goal celebration in the Blackpool that was supposed to send a message of support to imprisoned formed team-mate Luke McCormick, the man whose drunk-driving was responsible for the death of two children in June. Jim Magilton has described the past week at Portman Road as a very emotional one, and it seems as though the incident has caused a degree of disruption in the spirit of the club.

Whether the Norris incident has been disruptive enough to spoil Ipswich’s run of results remains to be seen though, and the Tractor Boys will still be heavy favourites for the game. But with the way in which Rovers have played in most games this season must surely mean that a win is around the corner, and the Sky cameras have been known to bring out the best in O’Driscoll’s men before.
Prediction: 2-0 Rovers.
