The England Away Shirt by Nike

The new England away shirt has been unveiled by Nike and ‘reflects distinctive history and style’. The American brand designed the shirt based the history of the red shirt with the new innovations including the lucrative Dri-Fit technology. The away shirt will be showcased in the away friendly against Brazil on the 2nd of June in Rio de Janeiro.

Enriched with natural pride and distinctive style, the away shirt sees the welcome return of England’s most popular and evocative red away colour. England famously first wore the red shirt in 1951 and also at the 1966 World Cup Final where they beat West Germany 4-2.

The iconic gold crest is seen on the shirt which celebrates the FA’s 150th year in existence and a gold star above the crest reflects the nations one World Cup title in 1966 and a gold ribbon which displays the text 1863-2013.

Displayed by Jack Wilshere and Wayne Rooney the kit is made out of recycled polyester where plastic bottles are chipped to flakes then melted and turned into fabric reducing the energy consumption by 30%. The kits weighs in at just 150 grams which is 23% lighter than previous kits and other innovations include the Nike Pro Combat base layer, constructive T-bars, ventilation zones and Dri-Fit.
