Game 27 – Daggers show their fighting spirit!!

Come on admit it!!

With the score at 2-1 to Rochdale after 70 minutes, you didn’t think we would get anything did you!

I must admit, I didn’t either. It’s testament to the squad of Dagenham & Redbridge FC that we kept going and showed that we never say die.

Rochdale are undeniably a very good side and will surely make the play offs this season. It makes it all the more sweeter therefore that we’ve done the double over them. It may turn out to be a very crucial six points come the end of the season.

However, there wasn’t much different from the performance on Tuesday. The difference was that Daggers took their opportunities this time around. Many may say it papers over the cracks that were visable after a poor first half performance. Surely though it’s testament to the boys that they have managed to beat a very good team whilst not playing at their peak.

The Daggers tough run of games continues this week as on Tuesday the boys visit a revitalised Grimsby Town and welcome promotion contenders Darlington on the Saturday after. Personally, I’d take 1 win from them 2 games and anything else is a bonus. Grimsby potentially is very tough as they are in good form and have new self belief. Darlington are one of the best teams in the division and we have put in three shoddy performances against them in the league (including the 3-2 comeback, I don’t rate that as a good overall performance).

Roll on next Saturday and I’m sure the table will have changed around again!
