I don’t wish to become a shit rumours site, and this rumour seems to have little by the way of credibility, however, it is just about the lower bound of what I’ll post on a slow day.
Former Leeds, Atletico Madrid and Chelsea striker Jerrel (Jimmy Floyd) Hasselbaink has been rumoured to be in talks with Stoke. This seems hugely unlikely, not least because the former Dutch international, who was born in Suriname is threatening to take former club Cardiff City to court over his release at the end of last season. These don’t sound like the actions of a man about to sign for a Premier League club to me.
It’s unsettling that some of the names we are now being linked with are not quite of the same quality as the ones of previous months. As the transfer window reaches it’s business end, I’d hope Pulis keeps the policy of quality over quantity, and in this case quality over player no longer good enough for Cardiff, particularly when the quality being mentioned is the likes of Valencia’s Nikola Žigić.
