 Former Stoke captain Dominic Matteo is rumoured to be on course to sign for Championship Wolves on a free transfer.
 Matteo, who was officially released from Stoke at the end of last season, has been rumoured to be in line for a new contract at Stoke, or a rolling month to month deal. It is well known that Pulis sees Dominic as a good captain and a great influence on the dressing room, so keeping him on seems an option not defunct of reason.
 However, can we afford to keep on a player who will pay little part on the pitch just to boost morale off it. Many Stokies will have the view that this money couls be far better spent elsewhere.
                               
After joining Stoke in January 2007, Matteo made 22 appearances, his only goal coming in a 2-0 win at Derby in February 2007.
