World Cup hosts South Africa have revealed their new home shirt that they will wear during the 2010 tournament that they will stage for the first time in their history.
As hosts, the team were always guaranteed to be one of the 32 qualified nations at the tournament. However, their poor recent form has seen many people write them off from making any impact in June. Manager Joel Santana recently resigned after several poor friendly results and former manager Carlos Alberto Parreira has taken the reigns for the World Cup. The one bright spot for the national team arrived in the summer of 2009 as the team managed to reach the semi finals of the Confederations Cup and only lost to a late free kick to Brazil. The World Cup group stage has seen them drawn in a group involving France, Uruguay and Mexico.

The new 2010 South Africa World Cup home shirt is predominately yellow with green touches around the collar and underarms in particular. Manufacturers Adidas place their green logo centrally below the round neck collar whilst the three traditional green stripes run down to the shoulders. The national badge is situated in the top left of the shirt and a World Cup logo is present in the top right.
