World Cup hosts South Africa have revealed their new alternative shirt that they will wear if there is a kit clash during the 2010 tournament that they are hosting.
As hosts, the team were always guaranteed to be one of the 32 qualified nations at the tournament. However, their poor recent form has seen many people write them off from making any impact in June. Manager Joel Santana recently resigned after several poor friendly results and former manager Carlos Alberto Parreira has taken the reigns for the World Cup. The one bright spot for the national team arrived in the summer of 2009 as the team managed to reach the semi finals of the Confederations Cup and only lost to a late free kick to Brazil. The World Cup group stage has seen them drawn in a group involving France, Uruguay and Mexico.

The new South Africa World Cup 2010 away shirt is predominately light green with dark green patches on the edges of the sleeves and down the sides of the shirt. A faded watermark of the country’s flag is present on the body of the shirt whilst the collar is a green round neck with a yellow pattern inside. Manufacturers Adidas place their yellow logo centrally below the collar. The global sportswear brand also place their three traditional yellow stripes down the shoulders and on the edges of the sleeves. The team crest is also present in the top right of the shirt.
